Definition of Forensics Technology:

Forensic sciences (defined as ‘forensics’ in this paper) is the usage of a wide range of sciences to answer questions of interest to a legal system. It also involves the scientific technology used in the investigation of crimes through collection and analysis of physical evidence present at the crime scene.

Forensics encompasses a wide range of sciences, from the physical, medical and social science domains, examples of which include DNA analysis, fingerprinting, ballistics and toxicology among many others (Richard Saferstein, 2010). Forensic technologists work at crime scenes and laboratories and are often called on to give testimony at court proceedings (Sharon L. Cohen, 2012).
