Polygraph machine, also known as a lie-detector, plays an extremely important role in criminal investigations. Other than operating the polygraph machines, these forensic polygraph examiners have to administer the actual polygraph exam and interpreting the results.

On the contrary to what people believe, these results alone are actually not sufficient enough to be presented as an evidence in court. However, the results can help to point the investigations towards the right direction and narrow down potential suspects. (Kristin, 2012)
