Forensic Toxicology

Forensic Toxicology is the use of toxicology and other disciplines such as analytical chemistry, pharmacology and clinical chemistry to aid medical or legal investigation of death, poisoning, and drug use (Wikipedia, n.d.).

The forensic toxicologist considers evidence at the crime scene, physical symptoms of the victim recorded as well as other evidence, to determine which toxic substances are present, in what concentrations, and the probable effect of those chemicals on the person. [Urine, blood, hair, oral fluid samples are all examined].

Forensic toxicologists perform scientific tests on bodily fluids and tissue samples
